Emergence

So much pain and so much grief

I had to die to get set free

I had to be born again actually

I didn’t know what this would mean

I didn’t see how it would cost me EVERYTHING

I thought I was going to bleed to death 

But then He bled for me 

So now here I am emerging finally 

As ME.

“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12 NKJV

I painted this right after ending a battle with cancer. It came suddenly for reasons the doctors never knew and it was already stage 4 when it was discovered. Once Chemo started it shrank faster than they could understand and I was completely healed before the treatment ended. I kept my hair and had no side effects. The word of God was made flesh in me through this experience. I came through it knowing I mattered more than I ever knew I did before carrying Christ in me to the core. His resurrection has now been mine too and I now live to let His life be revealed through me.

“We continually share in the death of Jesus in our own bodies so that the resurrection life of Jesus will be revealed through our humanity. We consider living to mean that we are constantly being handed over to death for Jesus’ sake so that the life of Jesus will be revealed through our humanity.”
